Well if thats a risk I better stop driveing, rideing a bike, crossing a street, walking on a side walk, playing in the yard, standing in the yard and  be inside all day! NOT looking out a window, The sun can shine on me and I might get cancer ...

I think you kinda missed the major point; it's about addiction, not death.

I was under the impression people that get addicted in general have something about them personally that leads toward addictions. So, if it wasn't online gaming it could have been something else.

Addiction is a pretty strong word.  It's way too often overused.
